Instructional models of LI schools

Hundreds of Long Island public schools have adopted a hybrid teaching model for the 2020-21 school year, making it the most popular instructional format by a considerable margin, according to state Education Department data.

A review of 611 schools across 114 districts reveals that 375 schools, or 61%, are using the format. More than a third — 210 — are holding in-person classes and another 26 are teaching completely remotely.

Mode of teaching aside, districts across the Island gave families the option to keep their children at home under a remote-only model.
